The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), in collaboration with MyGov, invites citizens across India to participate in a Video-Making Contest on the theme “Understanding National Household Income Survey (NHIS): Data for India’s Future”.
This initiative aims to:
1. Promote awareness about the National Household Income Survey (NHIS)
2. Highlight the role of data in evidence-based governance
3. Encourage citizen participation in official surveys
4. Showcase the importance of reliable income data in policy making and socio-economic planning
Competition Overview:
Title: Video Making Contest on Understanding National Household Income Survey (NHIS): Data for India’s Future
Objective: Create a short 1–2 minute informative video explaining the importance and relevance of NHIS and how it contributes to better policy making and socio-economic planning in India.
Participants are encouraged to highlight how reliable income data helps understand income distribution, design welfare policies, and improve economic planning. Videos may also explain the role of citizens in surveys and the importance of confidentiality and trust in official data collection.
Target Audience: Open to all citizens of India interested in statistics, governance, and socio-economic development.
Submission Guidelines:
1. Create a 1–2 minute video explaining the importance, objectives, or relevance of NHIS.
2. Share the video on your social media platforms (X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) using hashtags #NHISIndia #StatsForNation #GoIStatsForYou.
3. Tag @goistats (X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube).
4. Submit the video link on MyGov by pasting it in a Word/PDF document.
Language: English or Hindi (subtitles preferred).
Originality: Content must be original and unpublished.

Judging Criteria:
1. Clarity of Explanation (30%)
2. Creativity and Storytelling (30%)
3. Visual and Audio Quality (20%)
4. Engagement (20%)
Evaluation:
All entries received within the stipulated timeline and found in order will be evaluated by a committee constituted by MoSPI. The committee will shortlist entries and finalize the winners.
Gratification:
1. Top 10 winners will receive ₹25,000 each.
2. Next 20 winners will receive ₹15,000 each.
